Daddy's Excitement

Kevin is gettin so excited, I have always known that he would be an amazing father and that he would always stand beside me and Gavin. However as we are getting closer to the end I can see his excitment more than anything. Fear really does not come out in Kevin he is just so excited that he hides his fear. He is always talking about what he is looking foward to and the things that him and Gavin are going to do.

Here are just a few of the things that Kevin says.
"I can't wait to just kiss him"
"He is going to always be rigt here beside me" (but that I can only have him for feedings)
"I cant wait to see who he looks like"
"I cant wait to go get Ice Cream together, just me and Gavin"
And to top it all off he says he cant wait till I go back to work so him and Gavin can have there time. I absolutely love it and am so thrilled to be traveling this road with such an amazing husband.

30 wks appt

Well we had our 30 week appt. I can not believe I am 30 weeks now this is gettins scary, only 10 more week to go till we meet out little man. We are getting very nervous but also very excited. This has been such an amazing and different journey and I am so happy to be traveling it with such an amzing husband. This preg. is starting to get tough for me, I am having such a hard time sleeping, bending over, getting in/out of my car and sometimes even walking. How do I do it, well I dont have a choice I just do but it is all worth it. I just have to listen to my body and take breaks.

Well the appt went great, I gained 3 lbs from my last visit for a total of 17 lbs. now. We had a sono to see why I was measuring big but everything turned out to be normal and the Dr. said I might have been bloated of Gavin could have been in a weird position. He is weighing approxim. 3.2lbs and 15.2 in. long. Estimating to weight about 7.5 -8 lbs when he is born. Thats big to me I was thinking a 6lbs. 12 oz baby but he has decided other wise. His HR was 136bpm but very strong and active. He is head down and his hand was over his face and his foot was beside his face. We got some really great pictures of his feet, his big toe looks really big but I love it I cant wait to kiss those feet.

He is really moving alot now, he use to just move some in the mornings and alot at night but now he moves all day. He really does not like it when I do alot of walking he tends to ball up on my right side until I sit down, he is already spoiled. Kevin and I can watch my belly move now which is great. He does not roll from one side to the other just one side of my stomach jumps suddenly or sometimes just stays elevated from him pushing. Its the greatest we just laught about it.

Mama finally felt him move

Mama is what we call our Grandma in my family, so Mama is for my mom. My mom has not felt him move yet and on Feb. 18 I was at her house and she finally got to feel him move. He was moving alot but when she tried to feel him move he stopped moving, we pushed him around for about 10 min and then he started moving and would not stop, it was actually painful but its also a great feeling and my mom was loving it so I sucked it up and enjoyed the moment. He was actually very active all day which is unusual but I guess I am hitting that moment during this preg. where he is going to be more active. I am ok with that because when I feel him move then I know he is ok and that is such relief.

Glucose Results

NO DIABETES, woo thats a relief. We got the results 2 days after our appt and when the nurse called I answered the phone and said please give me good news and of course it was. She told me all the results for each blood draw which was a total of 4 and all results were good except the 1 hr but you have to fail 2 or more to have gestational diabetes so I am in the clear and so is our Baby Boy.

I was not only scared of having diabetes because of myself but also for the safety of my Baby Boy. The risk of him developing diabetes later in life is higher if I had diabetes and I just cant imagaine subjecting him to that. However, I know that diabetes is not solely due to what I eat and how much weight I gain, its also has to do with hormone levels in pregnancy but I personally would feel guilty.

Luckily Gavin and I are in the clear - woo hoo.

28 wks appt

Well we had our 28 week appt and also the repeat glucose test. We arrived at the dr. office at 8:30 am to start the test but did not have an appt to see the dr. till 10:45am. My sister came down because after the appt we are going to register. Well needless to say we left the dr. office at 12:30, wow it was a long day. We were pretty sure that I passed because when we left the office I could tell that my blood sugar dropped I was very shaky, hot and sweaty but we have to wait a couple days for the results.

I have only gained 1 lb since my last appt so I have gained a total of 14 lbs so far. His HR was 156bpm. My sister was so excited to hear that and of course Kevin and I were too. Everything else looks great except I am measuring 3 weeks ahead, I dont think i am that BIG. We go back in 2 weeks for a sono to check Gavin's size as well as my fluid level to see why I am measuring big, hopefully it is just a fluke and all is well, which I know it is.

While we were waiting in the office my sister got to feel Gavin move, and that was the first time she felt it. She was in ahh, and I think Jaydon might have felt him move to but dont know for sure. He said he felt it but I am not sure but we will allow him to think he did because he got a really big smile.

After the appt we went to eat with my sister, my mom and my nephew and then went to register. Registering was fun but very stressful, there is so much stuff and because this is our first baby we want the best but also want it to look nice too. I know there are things that we forgot to register for which is fine since we are his parents we will get it.

Hospital Visit

February 4, 2009
Well today I was off and running some errands. Gavin normally does not move much during the day but today I could not remember the last time I felt him move. After lunch I came home and lied on the couch and tried to count how often he moved and was unsucessful but since he does ot move much I did not think to much about it. We went to dinner that night and I had 3-4 glasses of water, cinnamon butter rolls and ice cream, basically alot to wake him up. Well during dinner I might have felt him move 1 or 2 times, so I started to get concerned. We went home and I drank more water and even had Kevin shake my belly and his movement was very limited. I waited about 2 more hours and finally decided to make a trip to the hospital.

Well once we got to the hospital and they put me on the monitors Gavin kicked the monitor. Stubborn little guy isn't he, takes after Kevin. We stayed at the hospital for about 45 min and got to come home. Thankfully all was good and he sounded and looked great on the monitor and he was constantly kicking the monitor and rolling all over the place. It was such a relief to hear that, I should have kept the strip.
