Early Labor Pains

Well for a couple of days now I have been having cramps that were not painful just uncomfortable. I also started having ctx but not sure if they are real ctx's or braxton hicks but since they are not regular then I did not worry about them. Over the weekend Kevin and I cleaned the house and I kind of helped with the yard work but my back could not take it so I stayed inside and did some house work. Well on Saturday I started having ctx's that were very regular for about 30min but then they would go away and I could talk and walk threw them so I was not that concerned. However Saturday night came the worst back pain I have had to experience yet. Not only did my hips and back hurt but my tailbone was burning it hurt so bad. I did the heating pad and tried to change positions often but to no suprise I got no relief. Well that continued on until today Monday but I do get some relief but not alot. I did not go to work today due to the back pain and staying up from 1:13am till 5:30am but I did go the Dr. I actually cried in the dr. office and I still dont know why I guess just the hormones going crazy. The Dr. said that I have just having pregnancy pains and I am in the early stages of labor. I had my first cervical exam and I am fingertip which is like 0.5cm dilated. Now this does not mean I am going to go into labor soon its just my bodys way of preparing for the big day. She also said that he is dropping which is why I am having alot of the lower back pain, or as a friend says its baby Gavin massaging his back on my back :)

34 weeks

34 week appt.

Well today we had our 34wk appt and all is well. I have gained another 3 lbs but oh well thats ok its all for our little man. His HR was 142bpm in the office which is great. Its amazing how much this little guy is moving. Alot of the pregnancy blogs says that they move less at this time but not my Gavin, he is super active all I have to do is touch my belly and he moves but I guess that is just a mothers touch. Just kidding he moves alot for Kevin too, its amazing how much he has captured our hearts already and how lucky we are to have such an amazing little boy too.

We are at the home stretch now, only 6 more weeks to go. We are now trying to make sure everything is ready but still space things out so that we always have something to do. We still need a book shelf for his room and we decided not to get a rocker/glider for me in his room just so we can save money. Other than that we are all set for him to come home. We have not packed mine/or his bag yet but that can wait.

We bought a new camera but I have not figured out how to upload pictures on here with it yet so as soon as I do I will post new pictures.

Gavin's Room

32 week appt

We are now 32 weeks preg. only 8 more weeks to go. I cant believe how time is flying by but its also going so slow. We had our appt. on Monday and all looks good. I have gained 3 more lbs for a total of 20 lbs thus far. Doctor is not concerned about my weight gain at all but she did make the comment of so "2 lbs in 2 weeks huh" since I see her again in 2 weeks. I took that as a hint since the weight gain is about to really increase since Gavin is about to double his weight. All my vital signs were great and his HR was 135bpm loud and strong and I am measuring right on target.

When we left the appt. I felt a little overwhelmed, sad and lost. Dont really know how to explain what I was really feeling but I cried to Kevin about how scared and excited I am. I cant believe we are going to get to meet our little man soon and finally get to hold him and kiss him. I guess all the nerves are starting to kick in.

Sunday at work I did not feel to good and my stomach felt really tight when I would walked. I put myself on the monitor to see if I was contracting and thank goodness I was not and Gavin's HR was very reactive. After lunch I felt horrible again so I monitored myself again and I actually had 1 contraction which is fine but other than that everything looked really good. However sunday was my 3rd day to work in a row and with the time change aI think I overdid it but I have been relaxing since then and I feel alot better just really tired.

Update

Well everything is going great. I am feeling good just having some back pain but some days it is worse than others. Kevin is really good too, he is having some back pain too and we both are starting the nesting thing, haha I love it. Gavin is really good moving alot and we can actually feel body parts now. I think we can feel his leg but maybe it is his foot I dont know but either way its great. Also I think he moved to the other side of my belly. He has been on my left side for the longest but it feels like he is on the right side now even though I do still feel him moving on my left side.



We put his stroller together, that was a task. We could not figure out how to open the stroller and some how it just feel open and then the instructions feel out, wish I would have had them to tell me how to open the stroller. I laughed about it and said "We are going to be parents and can't even open a stroller." Kevin pushes the stroller around the house, that is hilarious but at the same time I love it. He is so exctied.



So about us Nesting, we have been trying to organzie everything now. We recently organized the hall closets for some of Gavin's stuff and Kevin did yard work. Our next weekend off we are cleaning the garage and hangng shelfs. We are just trying to stay busy so that time will fly by so taht we can meet our little man.

Baby Shower

We had our baby shower yesterday 3-1-09 and it was amazing. My shower was thrown by 6 people and they did an amazing job. It was a nautical theme and all the decor was hand painted. The food and the cake were so good, I actually want more of the cake at this moment but its all gone. We got so many gifts, or should I say Gavin got so many gifts. It is actually overwhelming how much he got. Once we got home with all the gifts Kevin said "How does one child need so much." It does seem like alot of stuff but I am sure that he will use most of it. I am getting so excited to meet our little man and to put all of these new clothes on him.

We are so lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives that made this shower happen and to turn out to be so great. We are truly blessed:)

Work is getting hard

So last week I worked 3 days in a row, 12hr shifts and we were really busy. Well thursday when I got home I was so exhausted and I was so sore. As we were lying in bed watching TV the pain in my back and legs just got worse and all I could do was cry. Kevin offered to rub my back but at that point I did not want to be touched. I had my heating pad and took some Tylenol and just laid there in pain waiting to fall asleep, I finally did and actually slept really good. I guess I jsut cant work 3 days in a row anymore we will just have to see what happens.
